Susan Baruch, M.D.
Dr. Baruch began her private practice in Bethesda in 1990 and has been working with Drs. Pennington and Sheff since 1996. She earned a B.A. at The Johns Hopkins University in 1983 before attending the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she obtained her M.D. in 1987. She completed her internal medicine residency at The Washington Hospital Center and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She was named to the Washingtonian List of Best Doctors in 2000 and received the Physician’s Recognition Award from the American Medical Association that same year. Dr. Baruch is a member of the following professional organizations: American Medical Association, American Society of Internal Medicine, Maryland Medical Society and the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Brent A. Berger, M.D.
Dr. Berger began his private practice in Montgomery County in 1990 and moved to his Bethesda office in 2004. He earned a B.A. at The Johns Hopkins University in 1980 before attending the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he obtained his M.D. in 1986. He completed his internal medicine residency at The Washington Hospital Center and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was named Washington Magazine’s "Top Doctor" in 1999 and 2002 as well as Washington Consumers Checkbook’s "Outstanding Physician Specialist" in 1998 and 2003. Lee R. Pennington, M.D.
Dr. Pennington has practiced medicine in Maryland since 1980 and has been in private practice with Dr. Alan R. Sheff since 1996. He earned a B.A. in zoology from Duke University in 1973. He then attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he obtained his medical degree in 1977. Dr. Pennington completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Hospital from 1977-1980. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and was named as a “Top Doctor” in internal medicine in 1999 and 2002 by Washington Magazine. Dr. Pennington is a member of the following organizations: American Medical Association, American Society of Internal Medicine, Civil Aviation Medical Association, Maryland State Medical Society and the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Alan R. Sheff, M.D.
Dr. Sheff has been in private practice since 1981 and has been practicing in Maryland since 1989. He received a B.S. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1974 before earning his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Sheff completed his internal medicine residency at New York VA Medical Center from 1977-1980. He is board certified and received the “Top Doctor” award for internal medicine in 1999 and 2002 by Washington Magazine. Dr. Sheff holds membership in the following organizations: American College of Physicians, Maryland State Medical Society and the Montgomery County Medical Society.
